UK NARIC introduces a redesigned Member Zone

UK NARIC’s online databases, including International Comparisons, have been revamped. All of UK NARIC’s databases have been brought together in a redesigned Member Zone which creates a single access point where members are able to access information about international qualifications, institutions and education systems.

The databases, used by universities, colleges, professional bodies and employers to help improve the understanding of international qualifications, have been redesigned to ensure that users are able to find information about qualifications and education systems more quickly and efficiently.

International Comparisons, UK NARIC’s primary database, covers 198 countries and territories and provides comparability statements for over 3,500 academic, vocational and professional qualifications as well as information on how English Language qualifications from 68 countries compare to UK standards.  The other databases developed by UK NARIC include Vocational Comparisons, Teaching Comparisons, Grade Comparisons, European Secondary Qualifications and European Grade Distributions; these provide more detailed and focused qualification datasets.  Accompanying the databases UK NARIC has also published an online resource that outlines how different English Language tests compare to UK standards.

“The databases were last redesigned a few years ago and it was time to make some changes” commented Tim Buttress, Head of Stakeholder Management Group, UK NARIC. “Last year we received nearly 400,000 log-ins to our databases and we wanted to ensure that our members are able to find comparability information more quickly and easily.”

“We have made a number of changes to the services we provide to our members over the last few years and this redesign will help improve the layout and navigation of the databases.”

“We are delighted with the way the databases look and their functionality; hopefully our members will also appreciate the way in which they are evolving, and will continue to evolve.”
